LOW-COST carrier Go is offering travel agents free flights in a bid to increase its corporate travel business.
Chief executive Barbara Cassani has already written to business travel agents within travelling distance of Stansted Airport, where Go is based, inviting them to sample the airline. Go’s next step will be to write to leisure agents with the same offer.
Sales and marketing director David Magliano said: “A lot of agents are now on management fees anyway and a lot of leisure agents are quite happy to charge them a booking fee, so the fact we pay commission is not an issue to them. Stansted is perfectly placed for many travellers and as we add to our route network and frequencies, it is becoming more popular.
“However, some agents have concerns that a low-cost airline had may be unreliable.
“We have written to them to invite them to see for themselves that Go is a high-class product.”
