KLM looks to axe Air UKservices from Stansted

KLM is expected to announce plans to axe old Air UK routes later this week which are operated by KLM UK.

Aviation experts have told Travel Weekly that a meeting is planned for Thursday to reveal cuts in services that do not feed into KLM’s Amsterdam Schiphol hub.

Those affected are set to include KLMUK Stansted services to domestic destinations and flights to Italy.

The process starts on October 30 when KLM UK drops Stansted-Jersey flights. Southampton-Jersey services end on March 25 2000.

British Airways franchise airline British Regional Airlines has applied to take over the Jersey flights using KLM UK aircraft and crew. Jersey European Airways has also applied for the services. A decision is due next month.
