Flybe flight forced to make emergency landing

A Flybe ski flight returning from Geneva to Cardiff was forced to make an emergency landing in Paris after developing “a minor technical fault”.

All 68 passengers were unhurt in he landing at Paris Orly and were flown to Cardiff later.

The Cardiff-bound flight had left Geneva Airport at 3.30pm on Saturday.

Passenger Luke Broadley told the BBC that the captain made an announcement about 45 minutes into the flight, warning there was a technical problem and that the Dash-8 turboprop would be landing.

Passengers were later told the problem was a “hydraulic issue” and the airline would arrange for an aircraft from Birmingham to fly them back to Cardiff later on Saturday.

A Flybe spokeswoman confirmed that the flight “experienced a minor technical fault and diverted to Paris Orly”.

A replacement aircraft was sent and passengers were expected back into Cardiff before 9pm on Saturday.
