Non-stop flights from Heathrow to Luxor are to resume next month in an effort to rebuild tourism.
The Egyptair service will be operated by a 160-seat Boeing 737-800.
The flights start on February 17 following co-operation between the Egyptian ministries of civil aviation and tourism for the restoration of tourism traffic, the airline said
Egyptair is also starting flights from Paris to Luxor on February 15 using a 145-seat Airbus A320.
The move is designed to further open up access to Nile cruises and trips to Luxor’s ancient sites.
It comes just days after violence in Cairo led to reports of 80 deaths over the weekend, with westerners targeted by protestors marking the third anniversary of the revolution in the country
