Flights cancelled ahead of French ATC strike tomorrow

Ryanair has been forced to cancel 26 flights to and from France tomorrow due to a strike by the country’s air traffic controllers.

The walkout will also affect services flying over France, and further flight delays and cancellations should be expected, the airline warned.

EasyJet is among other carriers which have also had to cancel an unspecified number of flights to and from France.

British Airways said flights from 7pm tonight until 6am on Wednesday would be affected.

“Although we intend to operate as many flights as possible we have been forced to make some cancellations,” BA said.

Passengers due to travel on Tuesday are being advised to check the status of their flight on airline websites before departing for the airport.

Affected travellers have been sent flight updates via email and text message.

Ryanair flight updates will also be posted on the @Ryanair Twitter page and the website.

Passengers booked to travel on flights on Tuesday can transfer onto alternative flights by contacting Ryanair’s reservation centres.

A spokesman said: “Ryanair regrets to advise passengers that 26 flights will be cancelled on Tuesday due to French ATC strikes and further delays and cancellations are likely.

“We sincerely apologise to all passengers who have had their travel plans disrupted by these unjustified ATC strikes.”
