Operators should pay, says carrier


THE travel trade’s other market leaders must be forced to work within the same sales guidelines as British Airways, claimed BA director of sales Dale Moss.



He said it was unfair the European Commission has only targeted BA with special rules on override payments just because it is in a dominant position. Moss said:”We would like this widened to other parts of the travel industry, particularly as we have been singled out.”



Market leading tour operator Thomson, which also owns the largest multiple Lunn Poly, refused to comment.



n BA must pay £2.5m in compensation to French passengers taken hostage by Iraq during the Gulf War, the French equivalent of the House of Lords has ruled. Cases brought by British and US passengers on board a jet seized in Kuwait in 1990 failed.
