Extra staff are being drafted in at Heathrow to counter a strike by baggage handlers today (Friday).

The airport said a “small number” of staff at ground handling firm ASIG are to take industrial action.

But passengers were urged to “allow plenty of time for your journey through the airport”.

The walkout covers ground handling services to some airlines at Heathrow Terminals 1,2 and 3.

“ASIG have plans to maintain their service and we will have extra staff available to support passengers with their journey,” Heathrow said.
