Oneworld fares arrive in creative packages

The Oneworld alliance is enabling BA to become more creative in the way it packages its fares, according to acting manager for sales product James Bell.

Opportunities for interlining enable the carrier to buoy up routes which may be struggling.

“Australia is currently booming but the South American economy has collapsed which means we have a lot of spare seats available on our flights to Argentina,” said Bell. “The tie-up with Qantas enables us to offer special fares flying BAto Buenos Aires and then onto Australia with Qantas.”

BAis currently developing fares for two-centre packages combining Bermuda with either Boston or New York. Passengers will fly the transatlantic sector with BAand make the internal connection with American Airlines.
