Isn’t it time that tour operators marketed holidays at a cost that provides enough profit so that they don’t have to add on ‘extras’ such as ticket on departure charges.
I made a booking with First Choice on June 29 to leave on July 16. With 17 days left, the tour operator said it would levy a TOD fee of £7 per person. This amounted to £35 for five people. Had the tickets been sent by special delivery, they would have been guaranteed by midday the next day. This cost would have been £4.
If this is not a prime example of tour operator profiteering, I don’t know what is!
