THE TRAVEL Training Company is to run a management fee workshop specifically for business travel agents next month.
The one-day programme will explain why the market has changed and why management fees are necessary, the different types of fees and how to introduce them to clients.
TTCkey accounts manager Nikola Hall said:”The focus for the concern surrounding cuts in commission is often on the leisure agent, but business agents will also be affected. Previously, many agents have used their ability to give back a percentage of commission earned as a way of balancing management fees. Now they are no longer able to offer that benefit and agents need to educate their clients about the additional costs and the necessity of fees. ”
The issue of management fees has caused concern among business travel agents, with many not implementing fees because they do not understand how to calculate it.
Sabra Travel director Katy Savvides said:”It is often complicated to work out management fees, and it is difficult to persuade clients to pay management fees. They do not understand why we have to implement this style of payment.”
The seminar will take place on July 14 at Birkbeck College in central London. It costs £69 which includes lunch and refreshments.
