Discounted fares announced for SAA trips to Malawi

South African Airways has teamed up with Malawi Department of Tourism to offer discounted fares from London to Malawi from £604 return.

This equates to a saving of up to £149 on a typical fare.

The year-round, competitive fares include a £604 return flight to Malawi’s Lilongwe International Airport saving up to £149 and a £624 return flight to Malawi’s Chileka International Airport saving up to £129.

The discounted fares are for travel between now and July 13 2015 and from August 19 to December 12 2015 and then from 25th December 25 2015 to March 31 2016.

Ian Musyani of the Malawi High Commission said: “Malawi is a wonderful destination for those seeking a variety of experiences in a relatively small geographical area.

“Highlights for travellers include Lake Malawi, exotic wildlife, superb landscapes and of course our greatest assets: the welcoming and vibrant people of Malawi.”

Serving Malawi’s capital city of Lilongwe, Kamuzu International Airport is an ideal starting point for exploring central Malawi’s Dzalanyama Forest Reserve, known for its unique bird populations, and Senga Bay, the closest point on Lake Malawi where hotels and lodges overlook beaches and a small forest reserve.

Chileka International Airport, serving Malawi’s second-largest city of Blantyre, offers travellers access to Mount Mulanje, central Africa’s highest mountain nicknamed ‘the island in the sky’, and the region’s national parks and wildlife reserves.

South African Airways offers double daily flights to Johannesburg from London Heathrow’s Terminal 2, and onto Lilongwe International Airport five times a week.
