Icelandic budget carrier Wow Air plans flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco next summer.
Four flights a week to LA are scheduled and five a week to San Francisco.
Three new 340-seat widebody Airbus A330-300s will be used for the new services to the US west coast from Reykjavik.
Ticket sales are due to start in the new year when fares will be disclosed.
The airline’s current transatlantic network covers Baltimore/Washington and Boston with Montreal and Toronto to be added next May.
Airline founder and chief executive, Skuli Mogernsen, said: “We are thrilled to add Los Angeles and San Francisco to our fast-growing network.
“This is a game-changer for Wow Air as we cement ourselves as the industry leader in the ultra-low-cost long-haul category.”
