Investigations continue into Mali hotel attack

Investigations continue into a deadly attack on the Radisson Blu hotel in the capital of Mali on Friday.

Gunmen killed 19 hostages in the attack in Bamako, before commandos stormed the property, killing two gunmen and releasing 170 hostages.

Of the 19 people killed, only 13 have so far been identified. These include two Belgians, three Chinese, an American, six Russians and an Israeli.

The hotel is popular with international visitors, including flight crew. Air France confirmed on Friday that two of its pilots and 10 cabin crew had escaped unharmed.

Little information has been revealed about the attack, with three Islamist militant groups so far claiming responsibility.
