BACKCHAT was one of the first to declare TIPTO a daft name for the group of independent tour operators founded by Cadogan Holidays’ Gary David.
But David is willing to poke fun at the silly title. At the inaugural meeting, guests were not only given tulips to wear. They were treated to bursts of Tiptoe Through The Tulips every time someone was about to make a speech.
“I was very sceptical about it, but it is an acronym that everyone remembers,” said ABTApresident Steven Freudmann, introducing the meeting.
