Lower-than-anticipated winter losses are expected by the parent company of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
Dart Group expects operating profits for the year to the end of March to be “slightly ahead” of current market expectations as a result.
The travel, distribution and logistics company described forward bookings for summer 2016 as “promising”.
This is supported by an increasing number of package holiday customers as a proportion of overall customers booked, the company said in a trading update this morning.
More than half of the season has already been sold, which is ahead of the same stage last year.
“Although it is still early in the leisure travel booking cycle and notwithstanding challenges in the eastern Mediterranean, given current booking momentum the board expects operating performance for the year ending 31 March 2017 to be broadly in line with the current year,” the group said.
