Maersk Air is stepping up frequencies from Birmingham International Airport to Rome, Stockholm and Milan from March 1.
Flights to Rome and Stockholm will increase from one to two a day and Milan will increase from three to four a day. All the extra routes will be serviced with the 48-seater Canadair Regional Jet-200s.
The increased Milan departures follow demand for a late-evening flight from Birmingham at 6.25pm, arriving at Milan’s Malpensa Airport at 9.30pm local time.
Maersk Air’s commercial director John Kingsford said demand for flights to Milan, launched in 1983, remained strong.
