P&O CRUISES has launched a new range of vegetarian meals in response to demand from passengers for a wider choice of eating options.
The cruiseline has been trialling a separate menu for non-meat eaters during world cruises of its three ships, Victoria, Oriana and Arcadia, which began earlier this year.
The trial has proved successful among passengers, and the cruiseline will now introduce the separate menu as a standard dining option on all its cruises.
General manager hotel operations Tim Yates said: “We already had one vegetarian choice on the main dinner menu, but we have added a separate menu following requests from our passengers. We have definitely seen an increase in the number of people requiring special meals.
“We have been working with the Vegetarian Society to devise menus which are well presented and nutritionally balanced.”
Each menu has a choice of three starters, three main courses and three separate pasta dishes. One choice from each section of the menus is suitable for vegans.
