Best Western bolsters programme

HOTEL consortium Best Western has added over 2,500 hotel rooms to its 1999/2000 Getaway Breaks brochure.

The 100-page brochure features 245 hotels across the UK compared with 221 in the 1998/1999 brochure.

Special offers available include discounts of up to 30% on selected properties. Prices start from ú36 per person per night on a half-board basis.

There is also an offer of seven nights for the price of six valid at over 140 hotels during certain months from ú37 per person per night.

Marketing manager, leisure Jennie Brookes said:”We have more hotels than ever before – a major strength in the programme.”

The brochure has been redesigned to focus on the benefits of holidaying in the UK.

“There is a lot more emphasis in the attractions within the UK. We now have separate spreads on England, Scotland and Wales,” said Brookes .

For the first time, Best Western has included a section dedicated to action and adventure with two-night breaks in the Kent countryside starting at ú144. The deal includes two nights Table D’Hote dinner with bed and breakfast, a day of five different activities plus lunch. “After the action breaks were featured on Wish You Were Here we had a lot of demand,” said Brookes.

Other new deals include London breaks incorporating entry to the Millennium Dome from ú110 for two nights’ bed and breakfast with a one day ticket. Golf packages, theatre breaks, falconry or Medieval feasting are also featured.
