n NTB launch regions holiday guide for ’99



The Northumbria Tourist Board has launched the region’s 1999 Holiday Guide, which includes information on destinations, attractions and accommodation throughout the region. Tourism to Northumbria generated ú926m in 1998, and is forecast to top ú1bn this year.



n Bermuda hopes for UK tourism boost



Bermuda Tourism is hoping a ú399 weekend package offer to the island will boost UK visitor numbers in February. Operators including Main Street USA and Prestige Holidays are featuring the deal, which includes British Airways flights and three nights’ self-catering accommodation. Outbound travel must be taken by February 28.



n speakers confirmed for TTM conference



Holiday Cottages managing director Peter Chappelow and Sunvil Holidays managing director Noel Josephides are among the speakers at the Travel and Tourism Marketing conference on March 15 at the Berkeley Hotel in London.



n jersey environment festival spans two weeks



Jersey has expanded last year’s Environment Week into a two-week Environment Festival for 1999. The festival will run from May 1 to 15. Meanwhile, Jersey Conference Bureau will launch a redesigned conference and incentive guide in March.



n Brazilian trade show sets rio date



The first Brazilian International Travel Exchange will be held between April 26 and 28 at the Rio Convention Centre. BRITE organisers are expecting up to 250 suppliers and 400 international buyers to attend.
