Belfast International Airport has started work on a ú1.75m refurbishment of its international departure area. The first stage of the upgrade will be complete by June to give passengers additional seating. Asecond stage, to provide new facilities and boarding gates, is due for completion at the end of autumn

US Airways has launched a trade campaign to promote its Envoy business class product. The Gatwick-based carrier’s sales team is meeting key business agents to push its 24-seat product which it uses on services to Philadelphia.

Meridiana has opened a lounge for business class passengers in Gatwick’s South Terminal. The Electa lounge gives the Italian airline’s passengers to Florence, Palermo and Sardinia its first dedicated facility.

n Club Travel 2000 secures futura seats



Tenerife specialist Club Travel 2000 has boosted its East Midlands Airportprogramme by signing a contract with charter carrier Futura to offer 2,500 seats this summer. The deal starts on July 23 and runs until the end of October.
