WIGHTLINK is increasing frequency on its three routes across the Solent this year.
The move follows research among customers who said they wanted more frequent crossings on the Lymington to Yarmouth, Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Portsmouth to Ryde routes.
Sailings on all three routes are due to increase from 58,602 a year to 62,000 – a boost of 3,398 crossings.
The company are not releasing details of times and start dates yet. This is the third year in which the company has increased the number of Solent sailings.
Wightlink head of marketing Janet Saville said: “Now that the Isle of Wight is established as a year-round leisure market we must continue to respond by providing incentives for customers to try an off-season break. More flexibility in the sailings offered on our three routes are key to this.”
