n Villa nova makes harlequin debut for 1999



Harlequin Worldwide Travel has introduced Villa Nova, aBarbados country-house style hotel, to its 1999 Connoisseurs Caribbean Collection brochure. Seven nights’ bed-and-breakfast at the 28-room property, a past home of former British prime minister Sir Anthony Eden, lead in at ú1,408. The hotel is due to open in May.



n tradewinds expands wedding add-on option



Tradewinds is offering wedding packages as an add-on at 11 Barbados hotels in its dedicated 1999/2000 Weddings and Honeymoons brochure. Prices start at ú249 at the Royal Pavilion between January 1-December 15, 1999. The deal includes legal fees, the services of a priest, minister orregistrar, witnesses and a bottle of sparkling wine.



n hilton to begin needhams point development



Construction of Barbados’ new Hilton Hotel at Needhams Point is due to begin later this year. The five-star property will have 350 rooms and a 600-person capacity ballroom.



n silk cut travel boosts barbados programme



Silk Cut Travel has beefed up its Barbados programme for 1999. The three new hotels, the Villa Nova, the RoyalPavilion, and the Glitter Bay are all at the luxury end of the market and feature in the company’s Island Retreats brochure. Prices lead in at ú857 for seven nights room only at the Treasure Beach Hotel.
