FORMER Avis field and corporate sales manager Mark Tristram-Walmsley has been appointed as UK sales director for rival Hertz.
Tristram-Walmsley left Avis following a reshuffle in its sales team in November and has been considering a number of options since then. He will join Hertz, which currently does not have a UK sales director, on March 1. Under the terms of his departure from Avis, he is unable to join a rival before then.
In his new role, Tristram-Walmsley will be seeking to increase both travel and corporate sales for Hertz. He was unavailable for comment as Travel Weekly went to press.
