Euro Disney bids to secure deal for second theme park


EURO Disney is in negotiations with the French government to build a second theme park alongside Disneyland Paris, which, if the company secures an agreement, could be ready to open by the year 2002.



The estimated cost of the project is understood to be in the region of ú600m.



The new park is expected to offer rides and shows on film and television and cartoon themes.



n The Walt Disney Company’s theme parks and resorts division achieved a 17% increase in operating profit to ú239.4m in the last quarter of 1998. Revenue rose by 14% to ú848.5m.
