JOB FOCUS: Tracey Lee, general manager customer services and operations

Tracey Lee, general manager customer services and operations, Brymon Airways


Education: BSc French Swedish and Law from Surrey University and a Masters in Business Administration from Open University.


Training: studied a variety of management training courses at British Airways and gained experience through working in a number of different positions within BA’s purchasing and operations departments.


First travel job: after university, Tracey joined the BA graduate-training programme in 1988 where her first job was buying catering perishables. From purchasing she moved to the operations department where she ran a team rostering BA cabin crew and then moved into the baggage handling department at British Airways. She then moved to BA subsidiary Brymon Airways, to her current position overseeing customer service and operations for Brymon’s UK and European network.


Advice for people wishing to develop a career in travel: “The travel industry is hard work and is very people orientated. To get ahead in the travel industry you need to have high energy levels and genuinely enjoy being with people. Be prepared to be able to deal with quick changes and be prepared for the fact that every day is different.”
