STENA Line has launched a dedicated brochure to Holland as part of a bid to highlight the country’s alternative destinations.
Holiday Holland features a choice of self-drive and rail-connected holidays, self-catering holidays, theme parks and motoring tours, with travel via the Harwich-Hook-of-Holland high-speed ferry service.
Product manager Steve Garnett said: “We felt there was a gap in the market for the brochure.
“We also wanted to broaden the appeal of Holland and get more people to think about it as a short-break holiday destination, rather than just a chance to go to Amsterdam. Nobody really thinks of Holland as a place to go touring, so we wanted to introduce this aspect of it too.”
As well as Amsterdam and The Hague, the brochure includes smaller, less-explored places for the tourist like Utrecht, Maastricht, Leiden and Den Bosch. Short breaks include trips to Duinrell, which has Europe’s largest indoor water park, and the Golden Circle tour, which calls at of fishing villages and towns around the Zuiderzee.
Theme park holidays offer stays at Gran Dorado Holiday Villages, priced at ú60 each for a family of four.
Prices for Duinrell start from ú70 each for four nights’ self-catering for a family of four in a bungalow in April and from ú169 per person, based on four adults travelling together, for a four-night Golden Circle tour.
The brochure also includes short self-drive breaks to Germany and Belgium, including Hamburg and Bruges.
