Riches’ move leads Panorama to restructure managerial positions

PANORAMA Holidays has restructured its management team and made a number of board appointments following the departure of national sales manager Paul Riches.

Cosmos has poached Riches to fill its sales and marketing director’s post, joining newly appointed managing director Nigel Wright at the beginning of February.

Riches said it was time for a change. “I have been at Panorama for six years and while there are very exciting times ahead for it now it is part of Airtours, I felt the new position was good in terms of my personal development. Cosmos is a bigger operator and the position is a much wider role.”

Meanwhile, senior marketing manager Martin Young has taken over Riches’ sales role and has been promoted to sales and marketing director.

He also joins the Panorama board along with commercial manager Matt Rice, who becomes commercial director, and senior manager human resources David Crest, who has been promoted to human resources director. The operator’s senior manager responsible for its Ireland programme Niall McDonald also takes a seat on the board.

Young said the board appointments came as the operator continues to expand but declined to reveal details. Airtours chairman David Crossland has already said Panorama and Direct Holidays were the focus for expansion for the group’s UKbusiness.

Moving up: Young, left, becomes Panorama sales and marketing director after Riches’, right, quit to take up a position at Cosmos
