KUONI has strengthened its European tour operating presence with the acquisition of direct-sell operator Voyages Jules Verne.
The sale also includes associated companies Travel Promotions and Tropical Worldwide Holidays. Upmarket operator Airwaves, which was bought by Jules Verne in June 1996, also comes under Kuoni. The Kuoni purchase is backdated to November 1 last year. No sale price was disclosed.
Kuoni said Jules Verne, which is on target for a turnover of ú55m this financial year, will operate as an independent unit under founder Philip Morrell. He will continue as managing director.
