AMADEUS has launched a range of products which allow European corporates to book travel from their own PCs.
The global distribution system is promoting the products through travel agents and claims they will not hit agents’ business.
Amadeus UK managing director Graham Nichols said:”Corporates will be able to do the simple routine bookings which will help agents concentrate on providing the advice and expertise.”
The main booking tool is called Corporate Traveller and is backed up by an analysis tool called World Zoom. A feature called Quick Trip allows corporates to load their travel policies and individual traveller profiles to speed up bookings.
“Our research showed that for most corporates, 80% of travel is to 20% of locations.
“With Quick Trip, travellers only need to push one or two buttons, compared to other systems where they would have to press up to 40,” Nichols said.
The system was piloted with Ian Allan Travel and its pharmaceutical client Boehringer Ingelheim.
