THE NEW Zealand Tourism Board is to merge its UK and central Europe tourist office.
The centralised operation will be based in London, although an office will be maintained in Frankfurt, Germany.
Its London office will be headed by Barry Eddington, who has been appointed manager for the UK and Europe. He was previously manager for the central Europe region.
Former UK manager Linda Fleet left last summer to move to Australia and has not been replaced.
An NZTB spokeswoman said job cuts were not expected in the UK, where the team includes eight permanent staff and three temporary field staff.
n The NZTB has appointed a new chief executive, George Hickton, who will join the head office in May.
He replaces Paul Winter, who left to take up a job outside the travel industry earlier this year.
