Rising fuel costs blamed for price hikes
ESCALATING fuel costs have been blamed for the price hikes in Cosmos’ long-haul programme.Prices have risen by between 5% and 8% in both the operator’s Tropical Paradise and Florida brochures.
Managing director Nigel Wright said: “It’s partly because of inflation and currency exchanges but half the rise is because we are having to pay more for fuel.
“Summer 2001 is the first season that will be affected by the cost of fuel rises.”
New destinations of St Lucia, Antigua and the Dominican Republic resorts of Bavaro and Juan Dolio have been added to its Tropical Paradise programme.
Product director Danny Talbot said: “A lot of work has been carried out to improve these destinations. They have been cleaned up considerably and we felt now was the time to offer product.”
A five-star Nile cruise has been added along with a seven-night Holy Land Tour which can be combined with stays in Eilat. Expansion in the Middle East is expected in subsequent editions following the acquisition of Pullman Holidays earlier this year. An expanded Pullman brochure will be launched later in the year.
