Dublin gains Detroit link as Delta expands 2025 transatlantic network

A new link from Dublin to Detroit features as part of Delta Air Lines largest transatlantic schedule confirmed for summer 2025.

Four flights a week will run from next May, complement existing routes from the Irish capital to Atlanta, Boston, New York-JFK and Minneapolis St Paul.

Other new routes include JFK to Catania in Sicily, Atlanta-Naples, Boston-Milan, Boston-Barcelona and Atlanta-Brussels.

More flights connecting Europe to the US carrier’s hubs in JFK, Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis-St Paul and Detroit are part of record transatlantic expansion.

More transatlantic flights will be operated with increased premium seating using Airbus A330-900 and A350-900 aircraft, featuring Delta One suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and main cabin options.

The airline also expects its entire global fleet to be retrofitted with free Wi-Fi by the end of 2025, with transatlantic flights coming online on a route-by-route basis as service is available.

Network planning senior vice president Joe Esposito said: “With over 700 weekly flights to 33 European destinations and beyond, we’re expanding access to key cities like Barcelona and Dublin with new routes, while introducing our first-ever non-stop service to Catania, Sicily.

“We’ve also recently opened a stunning Delta One Lounge at JFK, with more to come at Los Angeles, Boston and Seattle.

“Alongside the rollout of free international Wi-Fi and increased premium seating across our fleet, we’re ensuring our customers enjoy the best in connectivity and comfort from the moment they arrive at the airport to when they touch down.”

Meanwhile, Delta flights between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv will be suspended until December 31 due to ongoing conflict in the region.

The airline said: Delta is continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports and will communicate any updates as needed.

“As always, the safety of customers and crew remains paramount. Customers should be prepared for possible adjustments to Delta’s Tel Aviv flight schedule, including additional cancellations on a rolling basis.”
