A former Ryanair executive is to lead the development of a new Wizz Air offshoot in Malta.
Diarmuid Ó Conghaile has been named as managing director of Wizz Air Malta.
The new subsidiary is due to be established later this year.
He will take up the appointment in Valetta from November 1, reporting to the budget carrier’s group chief operating officer Michael Delehant.
Ó Conghaile he was initially director of public affairs at Ryanair and went on to head its Malta Air subsidiary. He has held senior leadership roles at Dublin airport and the Irish Aviation Authority.
