Foreign Office eases advice on travel to Cyprus

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) no longer advises against all but essential travel to Cyprus, “based on the current assessment of Covid-19 risks”.

However, the UK entered the Cyprus government’s own red category on July 8 because of rising infection rates.

British holidaymakers must undergo a PCR test within 72 hours of departure and provide proof of a negative result from that test when entering Cyprus. They must take another PCR test on arrival at Larnaca or Paphos airports and remain in self-isolation until the result is issued, which should be online within three hours.

The test costs €30 at Larnaca airport and €32 at Paphos.

Tests must be paid for by the passenger and under-12s are exempt from the test rules.

Travellers with proof of two Covid vaccinations are not required to take a PCR test before departure while children under 12 are also exempt from the testing requirements. But all arriving passengers must complete the online Cyprus Flight Path form before they reach the island.
