Jet2 announces biggest-ever Iceland programme

Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have announced the company’s biggest-ever Iceland programme in response to “strong demand” for winter 2022-23.

The airline and sister tour operator’s expanded programme includes twice-weekly services from Birmingham and Manchester airports and its first Iceland routes from Bristol.

Almost 120 outbound services to Iceland from Jet2’s 10 UK bases are now scheduled to depart next winter with the additional flights on top of services from Belfast International, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle and Stansted.

Jet2 said its scheduled services from Birmingham and Manchester are “perfectly timed for those wanting to experience the spectacular Northern Lights” with flights on Monday and Thursday from both bases from September 29 until November 21, 2022, and February 9 to April 24, 2023.

Along with the flight-only options, Jet2CityBreaks is operating more than 40 three and four-night holidays to Iceland from eight UK bases, including Bristol for the first time.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “Iceland is a destination that has continued to see strong demand, so we are delighted to be expanding our successful programme even further for winter 2022-23.

“With a great programme of scheduled flights, complemented by over 40 dedicated trips, we are giving customers and independent travel agents more choice and flexibility than ever before. The unrivalled natural wonders of Iceland are making it a firm favourite with our customers, and the choice of award-winning flights and breaks through Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks, means we are looking ahead to a very busy programme next winter.”

Gretar Gardarsson, director of airline relations and route development at Keflavik Airport, added: “We are thrilled to hear of the strong demand that Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have had for trips and holidays to Iceland. They continue to be valued partners.

“We are delighted to welcome them back and look forward to working together with them on their increased programme for the 2022-23 winter season.”
