Jet2.com has warned of flight pre-Easter flight delays at Madeira airport due to bad weather.
The notice to holidaymakers came as the airport for Funchal confirmed “the possibility of disruption” to departures and arrivals due to the weather forecast “for the next few days”.
Jet2 issued a notice on its website shortly after midnight to say: “We’re sorry to tell you that flights departing and arriving into Madeira (Funchal) are delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
“If you’re affected, please keep checking your mobile phone for text messages and emails for latest updates.
“We’d like to thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
“It’s rare for our schedules to be disrupted like this. Our dedicated operations teams are working hard behind the scenes at our UK-based HQ and on behalf of us all, we’re sorry again for the inconvenience this brings. We’ll have you on your way as soon as we can.”
The airline pointed passengers to EC Regulation 261/2004 for information on their rights when flights are delayed.
