Jet2 staff in Newcastle donate Christmas gifts to local kids

The Jet2.com and Jet2holidays team at Newcastle airport have purchased and donated Christmas gifts to the local city council’s social care department to give to children in need.

About 80 staff donated more than 60 gift bags to the department, along with essential items such as food, toiletries, food vouchers and baby supplies.

The airport team bought toys, games, sweets, books, make-up, clothes and craft sets to include in the gift bags.

They handed them to the department’s offices in Byker to be allocated to children aged between one and 16 across the region.

Their efforts were led by Claire Jolly and Lisa Horrocks, who are both Jet2.com and Jet2holidays customer helper supervisors at Newcastle airport.

Jolly said: “The entire team really wanted to support those in need within our local community this Christmas, and I am so proud of how we have all come together to get behind this initiative.

“Christmas should be a time of giving and we’ve been absolutely overwhelmed with the generosity from our colleagues.

“Delivering the gifts to the Children’s Social Care Department was such a special moment, and we sincerely hope they make a difference to children this Christmas.”
