Ryanair boss: ‘Limit flying to vaccinated passengers’

Ryanair’s outspoken boss, Michael O’Leary, has said flying should be limited to vaccinated passengers.

His comments came in an interview with The Independent, in which he slated the UK government’s track record on travel restrictions – while people are travelling “reasonably normally” in most of the European Union.

“It seems to us that their policies are designed specifically to discourage people from travelling by air, particularly when people are fully vaccinated,” the Ryanair chief executive told the newspaper.

“There is this omicron hysteria in the UK, most of it generated by Downing Street and the government – I suspect to cover up their day-to-day mismanagement of almost every aspect of life.”

He said he would support limiting air travel to vaccinated people, saying those who are not inoculated against Covid-19 should not have the same freedoms as those who have been jabbed.
