Caribtours boss hails expansion of ID Travel Group portfolio

Caribtours chief executive Paul Cleary has hailed the expansion of the ID Travel Group with the recent addition of Australian tour operator Island Escapes.

Caribtours merged with ID Travel Group last autumn after ID took an initial stake two years earlier. Cleary becoming partner and chief commercial officer of ID in addition to his Caribtours role following the merger.

He said the acquisition of Island Escapes would further strengthen the group’s footprint in global markets and offer specialisms in more destinations to trade partners.

“The joint venture with ID Travel Group was years in the making, and we have always had plans to expand further into other markets,” Cleary said.

“This merger aligns with our goals of growing our global luxury footprint. Having the talented team from Island Escapes join us is an exciting development.”

He added: “All of the brands in the ID Travel Group portfolio share a commitment to the travel trade and value the importance of it.

“I’m delighted that our growth into our markets strengthens our buying power, allowing us in the future to expand our offering to our trade partners”
