Tailor-made operator Discover the World has started to work with Aito Specialist Travel Agents, the agent arm of The Specialist Travel Association (Aito).
In a statement, the firm said: “Due to demand from travel agents for [its] products and itinerary planning expertise, Discover the World now works with Aito’s specialist agent network, in addition to the partnership with Kuoni which was established in 2021.”
It said this move complements its “already strong direct consumer relationship” which has been established over the past 40 years.
Discover the World has also partnered with broadcaster and author Anita Rani on a new year-long campaign to highlight adventure travel.
As brand ambassador for the specialist operator, she will visit several key destinations to experience Discover the World and document her travels on video.
The content will be shared on her social media platforms, as well as Discover the World’s channels.
She will also write articles, contributing to website content and host trade and consumer-facing events on the operator’s behalf.
Nicky Greenwood, deputy managing director for Discover the World, said: “Her passion for travel, boundless energy and adventurous spirit makes her the perfect partner for us as she brings a fresh, younger perspective to the way we promote our holidays.
“Over the last 12 months, we have undergone a brand refresh and launched a new website. This partnership with Anita is a natural progression to this work.
“Our team’s in-depth knowledge of our destinations is second to none and there’s a huge opportunity to showcase this through the partnership with Anita, focusing on the more adventurous aspects of our destinations and working with our trade partners to reach new audience.”
Rani added: “Discover the World and my own values are very closely aligned which is why I was so delighted to accept this opportunity to travel to some incredible destinations and really push myself to ‘say yes to adventure’.”
She has just returned from her first trip to Iceland where she enjoyed stargazing at Hotel Ranga’s Observatory, snorkelling between the tectonic plates at Silfra, taking cold plunges in the ocean, geothermal bathing and exploring the newly formed volcanic landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula.
