Staff at Intrepid Travel and Hays Travel will be walking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu this year for the companies’ second annual charity trek.
The group of 17 will head to Peru in September with the aim of raising more than £10,000 for the Hays Travel Foundation and the Intrepid Foundation.
Intrepid’s head of business development and partnerships, Joanna Reeve, said: “It’s great to be joining forces with Hays Travel again after smashing our initial fundraising target last year.”

The trek will be led by Intrepid’s expert crew and guides including Ernestina Valeriano, who was one of Peru’s first female trekking guides.
Reeve said: “It’s extra special we can host the charity trek in Peru. The country’s tourism numbers are still slowly recovering after the pandemic and civil unrest earlier this year, and our local team can’t wait to give the group the best Intrepid experience.”
Hays Travel chief operating officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston said: “Having completed the charity trek to Morocco last year with the brilliant Intrepid team I know everyone taking part is in great hands and will really enjoy the challenge.
“We are grateful to our Hays Travel team for all their fundraising efforts to support the work our Foundation does to create opportunities for young people to reach their potential. To everyone taking part, my advice is to enjoy every minute.”
The Intrepid Foundation supports a range of partners empowering communities around the world, including in Peru.
