Two travel agencies have scooped £1,000 each to spend on marketing, thanks to winning the JG Travel Group ‘Grab a Grand’ competition.
Mel’s Travel in Ferryhill, County Durham, and Total Travel in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, won the funding as they supplied the best marketing ideas for increasing sales with the firm’s National Holidays or Just Go! Holidays brands.
All the entries were judged by a JG Travel Group management panel consisting of chief executive Andy Freeth; sales director Matthew Herbert; and trade sales manager Claire Dutton.
Both winners offered ideas such as roadside advertising boards, social media activity and stalls at local events.
Dutton said: “I was blown away with the entries and both the agencies we selected were worthy winners.
“It was quite emotional when I went in store to tell the agencies they had won, and you could really see just how grateful they were. We can’t wait to see some of the ideas turn into reality.”
