Leger Shearings Group celebrates return to Rotherham HQ

Staff at Leger Shearings Group celebrated their return to the company’s Rotherham head office with a grand reopening and socially distanced party.

The escorted coach holiday company – which operates Leger Holidays and sister brand Shearings – has carried out a major refurbishment at the premises.

Staff have been working remotely since April 2020 amid the pandemic.

Leger Holidays has been based in Rotherham since 1983 and last year, in the middle of lockdown, acquired the Shearings brand to create the Leger Shearings Group.

Domestic tourism restarted on May 17 and both companies have reported record UK staycation sales for this summer. Despite added extra capacity, they report there is very limited availability.

Liam Race, chief executive, said: “It was fantastic to finally see everyone in person again.

“We had so many things to celebrate; we officially welcomed Shearings to our family; thanks to our huge portfolio of UK holidays, we are one of the fortunate travel companies leading the travel industry recovery; and finally, we celebrated coming back to our completely refurbished HQ.

“The refurbishment was a significant investment and as well as everything being sparkling new our people will feel comfortable with the Covid health and safety measures incorporated in the design.

“We’ve also ensured there is space for expansion in the near future.  The new HQ signifies a fresh start and I believe it will be a happy place to work.”
