National Holidays introduces women’s football breaks

National Holidays is expanding its range of sports trips to include breaks to women’s football games for the first time.

The coach operator has put two new breaks on sale for 2023 that include tickets to watch the Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium in May and the Women’s Super League match between Manchester United and Arsenal in April.

Also new is a break to see England versus Australia in the Opening Ashes Test and an extra Premier League Darts trip.

The Women’s FA Cup Final, one of the biggest fixtures in the domestic women’s football season, is offered as part of a two-day break from £129, departing on May 13 and based on two sharing.

The price includes return coach travel from selected pick-up points in the northwest of England and west Midlands, one night’s bed and breakfast accommodation, a ticket to the game on May 14, and free time in London.

The two-day break to the Women’s Super League game at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium in Leigh costs from £109, based on two sharing. Departing on April 22, it includes return coach travel from selected pick-up points in Yorkshire, one night’s accommodation with breakfast and dinner, plus a ticket to the match.

National Holidays is also offering the chance for cricket fans to go to Edgbaston to see day two of the Opening Ashes Test in June 2023 from its world-famous Eric Hollies ‘party stand’.  Two-day coach breaks cost from £249, departing on June 17 and based on two sharing. The cost includes return coach travel from selected pick-up points in the northeast of England and Yorkshire, one night’s bed and breakfast accommodation, admission to day two of the test match and a visit to Birmingham.

The new two-day Premier League Darts break at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, follows the popularity of the operator’s Liverpool break. This departs on April 6 and costs from £129.

Claire Dutton, trade sales manager, urged agents in the relevant departure areas to promote the specific sporting breaks.

She said: “Our sporting packages are going from strength to strength and for 2023 we have even more options for agents to promote.

“It is so great to see women’s football in our portfolio for the first time as this now has a huge following.

“It’s important to remember a coach break is a great way to secure tickets to popular sporting events and with accommodation and transportation included, it really couldn’t be easier. Our range of options includes everything from horse racing and Formula One to rugby and darts and now women’s football – so there is a huge choice.”
