NJT reports ‘boost’ in Virgin Voyages sales after seminar at sea

Not Just Travel has reported a “substantial boost” in Virgin Voyages sales after the line hosted a seminar at sea on board.

In June, more than 150 NJT agents spent a week participating in training sessions and experiencing the Virgin Voyages product during a sailing from Barcelona to Cannes, Corsica and Ibiza.

The homeworking agency has reported a 400% increase in Virgin Voyages sales in the last 12 months which it has largely attributed to the seminar at sea, alongside the creation of its cruise division and the addition of ex-UK departures to the line’s 2024 programme.

Chief commercial officer Chris Harrison said: “Since our seminar at sea in June, the passion of the consultants for the Virgin Voyages brand has converted into strong sales.

“Having Virgin Voyages as an active, engaging and highly motivated key cruise partner has created a bountiful relationship that culminates in incredible sales.

“Prior to the launch of the cruise division last September, our cruise sales were average; as a business we had not yet seized the full potential of the cruise market, and our consultants simply didn’t know how to sell cruises.

“Now we have a passionate team of cruise-hungry consultants who are confident and experts.”

SJ Walker, director of sales UK at Virgin Voyages, said: “The seminar at sea was a game-changer in terms of enabling NJT consultants to experience the Virgin Voyages onboard experience.

“As one of our top performing partners, NJT and their consultants have impressed us all since the launch of our UK departure voyages.”
