Princess Cruises to invite agent ambassadors on Sun Princess

Princess Cruises will select agent ambassadors to be among the first people to step foot on new ship Sun Princess.

The 4,300-passenger vessel, which will be the first in the line’s fleet to be powered by liquified natural gas (LNG), is scheduled to enter service on February 8.

UK and Europe sales director Hayley Moore, who took over from Nick Hughes earlier this month, told a Travel Weekly webcast she is “so excited” to launch the ambassador programme, which will be a first for the line.

“We’re selecting some Sun Princess ambassadors who are going to be some frontline agents,” she said. “This is super exciting and it means that those people are going to get a very first look at her.

“They are then going to be able to bring the story to life for their agent communities so we’ll bring them on board and then they can help tell that story.”

Moore went on to say the cruise line will run its “biggest-ever” ship visit programme this year, beating the record it set last year of welcoming 2,600 agents on board.

“We’re going to knock [last year’s total] out of the park,” she said. “We want people to be able to experience [the brand] to be able to tell our story and there are so many ways agents can engage with us and get on board.

“This year we launched family days and we had real success there, plus we obviously have our fam trip programme and we have our graduation cruises for people who have completed training, so there’s more routes to get on board than ever before.”
