Titan Travel will lead the merged Saga tour operations with a commitment to working with the trade.
The message came from the touring specialist’s managing director Andy Squirrell after the parent company revealed in a trading update that Titan and Saga Holidays would be combined as part of a restructuring to create a lower cost business.
The over-50s specialist disclosed last week that it will be working with “a smaller” number of agents to enable it to “build stronger relationships” with those partners. Titan later said the trade is “part of our recovery”.
Squirrell said: “Proudly recognised for our expertise in touring, Titan Travel will lead the touring vertical of the new Saga Travel Group going forward.
“Reiterating our messages from last week, Titan remains absolutely committed to the trade.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for us as a brand and one that will see our touring operations and relationships with the trade grow.
“Looking ahead, we have a trade-friendly strategy filled with innovative and technological investments that will further modernise and streamline our agent and customer journey.
“Recent booking trends have been fantastically encouraging and set the scene for a buoyant year of travel which we wish to capitalise on with the trade and their support.”
Travel Weekly understands details of the restructure, such as job losses and how the two brands’ reservations teams operate, are also currently being worked out.
