Viking has doubled its capacity for sailings in the Great Lakes this summer as its new ship embarks on its first voyage.
Viking Polaris has today (May 3) arrived in Toronto for its first port of call in the region.
The ship joins sister Viking Octantis which began sailing in the Great Lakes in 2022 and began its 2023 season last month.

The two 378-passenger expedition vessels will sail all five lakes across six itineraries.
Two itineraries are new for this season: the 15-day Great Lakes Collection and 16-day Canada & the Atlantic Coastline.
The former will sail from Toronto to Duluth and costs from £10,095 while the latter will depart Toronto and conclude in Fort Lauderdale with a lead-in price of £7,995.
Itineraries include return flights from London and selected regional airports, a shore excursion in each port of call, Wi-Fi, meals and drinks with lunch and dinner.
Viking chairman Torstein Hagen said: “We are proud to welcome both of our expedition ships to the Great Lakes.
“With historic canals that are engineering marvels, cities with thriving arts and culture and unmatched wilderness, this is a phenomenal region of North America that may be familiar to many, but few have had the opportunity to explore.
“After our first full season of Great Lakes voyages in 2022, we are grateful for the warm welcome we received from each destination and look forward to introducing even more curious travellers to the region this season and in the years to come.”
