n Cyplon launches dubai programme


Cyprus specialist Cyplon Holidays is launching a dedicated programme to Dubai with projected capacity of 2,000. The operator is also looking at developing a Greece programme, probably for 2002.


n celebrity devises name for new vessel


Celebrity Cruises will call the third ship in its Millennium series Summit. The 1,900-passenger ship is scheduled for launch late next summer. It will be a sister ship to Millennium and Infinity, which is due to start operating next January.


n hayes travel signs deal with X-TANT


Hays Travel and agency consortium The Independence Group have signed a deal to obtain network services fromX-TANT. The deal gives Hays’ 55 outlets and the Independence Group’s 45 branches Internet access and viewdata down the same line. It also offers access to digital TV and Internet mobile phones.


n galileo signs up roberts from hertz


Galileo International has poached Hertz Europe’s leisure sales director John Roberts to become its new sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Roberts is due to take up the new post at the end of next month. Meanwhile, Galileo has announced that it is now able to offer automated refunds on all types of tickets.


n Carnival cuts four cruises on Paradise


Carnival Cruise Line has been forced to axe four seven-night cruises on Paradise because the ship developed technical problems. Paradise, which operates cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean out of Miami, is now in drydock. It is expected to re-enter service on August 13.0
