Endacott asks for legislation over Teletext

HOLIDAYSby Phone managing director Steve Endacott has written to consumer affairs minister Kim Howells demanding a meeting over the Government’s ruling on transparency.

Endacott has written a letter to the MP outlining his concerns that Teletext is not included in the order due to come into force on October 9.

Endacott claims Airtours and Thomson are failing to flag up Teletext pages that solely feature their products. He said Thomson had nine pages under the package holiday section of Teletext but only branded one as Thomson Holidays.

Endacott urges Howells to meet with independent call centres to discuss abuses he claims are occurring in the industry.

He hopes the meetings will result in an extension to the draft order to include Teletext.
